A switching power supply is a device that converts direct current energy from the mains into high-frequency and high-voltage alternating current energy. It consists of a switch tube and several rectifiers.
Due to the fact that the conduction and cut-off time of the switch tube can be adjusted arbitrarily with the input current, the output voltage can be adjusted by controlling the conduction angle of the switch tube when the output voltage is constant.
There are currently three types of commonly used switching power supplies in the market:
1. Linear regulated switching power supply adopts Linear circuit working mode. Its characteristic is that it has a relatively stable output waveform and high efficiency; But the drawbacks are large size, bulkiness, and poor reliability.
2. The pulse width modulation type of power supply uses a pulse width modulation circuit working mode. Its characteristic is that it can achieve high work efficiency; However, due to the use of pulse width modulation technology, the entire circuit is relatively complex and costly; In addition, due to the use of power devices, there are drawbacks such as large volume and heavy weight.
